Mit den Austria Airlines fliegen wir von Graz über Frankfurt nach Amsterdam. Der Besuch des Keukenhofes ist ein Traum meiner Frau Suphaporn. Pünktlich landen wir in Amsterdam und begeben uns in unser Hotel, Citizen M, das nur wenige Gehminuten vom Flughafen entfern ist.

Es ist bereits 21:30 als wir ankommen, darum begeben wir uns frühzeitig zu Bett um für den nächsten Tag fit zu sein.

07:30 - Tagwache. Laut Informationen aus dem Internet ist es ein Kinderspiel die Eintrittskarten zu besorgen und zum Keukenhof mit den Öffentlichen zu fahren. Du sollst Dich nicht täuschen!

Ich stehe am Flughafen vor dem Tourist Information Büro in der Schlange und möchte die Eintrittskarten sowie die Tickets für den Bus kaufen. Nach nur einer Stunde warten bin ich auch schon dran. Ca. 15 Euro pro Person incl. Bus. Geschafft! Nun aber nichts wie los!

Die Busstation befindet sich direkt vor dem Flughafen. Mich trifft fast der Schlag! Hunderte, wirklich Hunderte von Menschen stellen sich an. Und dann mache ich etwas, das ich normal nicht mache. Ich marschiere, meine Frau an der Hand, an den teileweise laut protestierenden Wartenden vorbei, in den Bus. Zeitersparnis geschätzte 2 Stunden!

Die Fahrtzeit zum Keukenhof beträgt ca. 30 Minuten.

Am Keukenhof angekommen, sehe ich den Eingang nicht. Grund: Menschenmassen. Ah, das große Schild, das muss der Eingang sein. Und wirklich, nach kurzer Ticketkontrolle sind wir auch schon drinnen und...Menschen, Menschen.

Nach ca. 50 Metern löst sich das Menschenmeer auf und wir bekommen einen Vorgeschmack was uns hier erwartet. Ich bin kein großer Blumenfreund, aber dieser Anblick ist faszinierend.

Auf einer Fläche von 32 Hektar kann man wunderschöne Zwiebelblumen wie beispielsweise Narzissen, Hyazinthen, Kaiserkronen, vor Allem aber Tulpen bestaunen. Es werden rund 4,5 Millionen Blumenzwiebeln von Hand eingepflanzt. Man bewegt sich auf ca. 15 Kilometern Spazierwegen zwischen den künstlerisch angelegten Blumenbeeten.

Keukenhof ist auch der größte Skulpturenpark von Holland. 150 Skulpturen von 50 Künstlern.

Über 9 Stunden laufen wir im Keukenhof rum und haben noch lange nicht Alles gesehen. Es ist zwar anstrengend aber es lohnt sich. Ein unvergleichbarer Anblick!

Es gibt im Keukenhof Restaurants, Imbissstände mit lokalen Spezialitäten und natürlich auch Toiletten. Das Rauchen ist untersagt!

Wir verlassen gegen 19:00 den Keukenhof und sehen wieder Menschenmassen am Bus. Nicht schon wieder! Wir sind zu müde um uns anzustellen. Mit einem russischen Paar teilen wir uns das Taxi zurück zum Flughafen.

Trotz aller Strapazen war das einer der schönsten Ausflüge die wir je gemacht haben!
